Tool
Every kind of leather has once performed as skin of an animal, which makes it a valuable material. After it is used to make a product of, there are usually small left-over pieces that have no purpose.
After gathering some left-over pieces, I started to modify them, mostly by cutting and stretching. New characteristics appeared, like foldability and flexibility. Left over pieces have often very strange shapes, which makes it hard to combine them. I build a stretch tool to enlarge the pieces and to make the outlines more straight, which made it easier to work with.

This movie shows the new possibilities of the stretched out and cutted-up leather and non-leather samples. I could imagine these movable structures applied in architecture or stage design, but this movie also points out another point of view. Can a small piece of left-over leather perform again on its own, as it once did when it was animal skin?
