Graphic design students respond to Werner Herzog’s Cave of Forgotten Dreams

Twenty-eight graphic design students of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie present contemporary typographic cave paintings, inspired by Werner Herzog’s film Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010). The film documents the oldest-known cave paintings, in the Chauvet cave in southern France.
What do we have in common with the homo sapiens of 32,000 years ago? Quite a lot, as it turns out: the mysteries of language and the magic of symbols, territory and mortality, urine and fire, spirituality and the silver screen, Twitter and Tumblr.
