On display at the library from November 22 onwards: material related to 'Poster Nº524', a project by René Put and Rianne Petter developed at the Research Group Art and Public Space at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
Poster Nº 524 presents the visual research of graphic designers René Put and Rianne Petter on the medium of the poster. For three months, Petter and Put collected posters hung throughout the city of Amsterdam, a total of 523 different posters. They carefully studied and deconstructed this collection, researched certain elements, isolated and then reconstructed them. Poster Nº 524 makes clear how a creative research process works, and is designed so that more generalized meanings about posters and visual culture are made visible.
