During the Gerrit Rietveld Academie Graduation Show, around 200 Dutch and international students from the departments of Fine Arts, Image and Language, DesignLAB, DOGtime, Jewellery, Photography, Glass, Graphic Design, inter-architecture, Fashion, Ceramics, TxT (Textile) and VAV presented their final graduation work in the three buildings at the Fred. Roeskestraat.
Every year, the Graduation Show attracts thousands of people from home and abroad. By way of this event, the Rietveld Academie offers its graduating students the opportunity to exhibit their work to potential clients, gallery owners, art lovers and other interested parties.

Op eindexamenexposities van kunstacademies voelt de bezoeker zich vaak verloren. Zoveel verschillende werken zijn er te zien, in uiteenlopende disciplines en zonder een gemeenschappelijk thema. De Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam organiseerde bij het eindexamen dit jaar een Masterclass Kunstkritiek voor jonge kunstcritici, filosofen, literatuurwetenschappers en kunstenaars. Onder leiding van Lucette ter Borg (NRC Handelsblad en Cinema Zuid) leerden twaalf aspirant-schrijvers een kunstkritiek schrijven naar aanleiding van hun bezoek aan de eindexamens op de Rietveld. De drie beste stukken verschijnen online bij De Groene Amsterdammer.

The Gerrit Rietveld Academie presents the annual GRA Awards to tree graduating students with exceptional talent. This happened during the Graduation Show, that is taking place between 2-6 July. With this prize, the academy aims to stimulate the students to continue their art practice.
The GRA Awards consists of tree categories: Design, Fine Arts and Thesis. The (external) members of the jury are: Ellen de Bruine and Dees Linders for Fine Arts, Maarten Baas and Tessa van der Waals for Design. The members for the category Thesis where: Maarten Baas, Tessa van der Waals and Jeroen Boomgaard (chairman)
The nominees in the category Fine Arts where: Lyubov Matyunina (VAV Audiovisual), Charlott Weise (Fine Arts) and Martin Kähler (VAV Audiovisual). The winner of the GRA Award in the category Fine Arts is Martin Kähler.
The nominees in the category Design where:Jelmer Luijting(DOGtime), Carlynn Armour (Fashion) en Stefan Auberg (designLAB). The winner in the category Design is: Carlynn Armour
The nominees in the category Thesis where: Jacob Darfelt (Graphic Design), Lieselot Versteeg (TxT) and Yuri An (VAV Audiovisual) The winner in the category Thesis is: Lieselot Versteeg
All winning and nominated graduates will participate in an exhibition in Castrum Peregrini in Amsterdam between half-november and half-december this year. The winners will receive a prize of 1500 euro and an award designed by Tijmen van Grootheest, president of the board at Gerrit Rietveld Academie and jewelry designer Richard Elenbaas.
