Jury report Carlynn’s designs are rather difficult to categorize because they carry a certain degree of ambivalence. It has something pleasantly disturbing to it. Her collection of 21 designs after one pre-existing pattern, made of leftover fabrics, appears slightly outdated. It forms a coherent whole with a clear story: a statement about waste in fashion. Her work is remarkably conceptual and well executed throughout. She has designed a concept instead of designing after a concept. Up to the finest details, Carlynn has been admirably consequent in the execution of her collection. For example, when there was not enough fabric left for outfit number 21, she decided to leave out a part. This is what makes the collection strong and credible. Jury: Maarten Baas and Tessa van der Waals
